Here’s how medical review actually works on this site, and where things currently stand.
What review means here
A named reviewer — identified by name and credential, and identified honestly as staff or an independent contractor — checks an article’s medical claims against its cited sources before it carries a “Medically reviewed by” byline. See our About page for who our current reviewers are and their credentials.
Where we are today
Our hair & scalp and vitamins & supplements articles now carry a named, credentialed reviewer matched to the relevant specialty. Articles carried over from our original 2020–2021 run are being rewritten and re-sourced on an ongoing basis as part of this relaunch — until a specific article shows a named reviewer and credential in its byline, treat it as not yet reviewed under this process. We will not claim a review that hasn’t happened.
